You don’t have to go anywhere. It’s right on your computer.
Recently I discovered photographer Karin van Mierlo, a native of the Netherlands, who’s been living in Lisbon for the past three years. If you’re into taking pictures–and frankly it seems everyone is, these days–read on.
Aspiring photographers can enjoy free content on Karin’s blog. She finds inspiration for her posts everywhere she goes in Lisbon, always with her camera in hand. But shutterbugs can also take it further with an online photography course platform, Photography Playground or one-on-one mentoring.
Karin didn’t let Covid-19 stop her or the members of her Facebook group, for whom she created a Stay Home at Photography Playground challenge. With recently restrictions being eased, Karin began a new series of photos around the theme of Lisbon waking up after lockdown. Called Lisbon Emerging, it consists of people exiting the popular Baixa Chiado metro station, with the metro a metaphor for the underground lives we’ve all been living these past months.
Keep safe and happy and learning, everyone!
